It is the responsibility of all Agents to behave admirably, meaning if you break the rules you bring on the consequences. The fate of our world depends on you, and with that responsibility, we cannot take disruptive behavior lightly. If you would like a reminder of what it means to be an Agent, please re-familiarize how to be on your best behavior.
Remember how you accepted the Community Code when first launching VALORANT? Well, there are certain words and phrases that, without question, are inexcusable in polite company (let alone on world-saving missions) that directly go against the Code. This includes:
- Insulting, threatening, harassing, or offensive language.
- Abusive language targeted at players based on their performance or otherwise.
- Any kind of discrimination or hate speech. This includes targeting a player’s race, ethnicity, religion, ability, sexual orientation, or gender identity.
We have systems in place to detect such communications, typed or spoken. If we discover bad behavior, you will automatically receive a ban on chat of any kind—or worse. Take a look at the table below:
Penalty | Details | Duration |
Warning | Tells you that you have violated our Community Code and triggered our chat offense systems. Further violations can result in harsher penalties. | n/a |
Voice & text chat restriction | You won't be able to use voice or text chat in VALORANT for the described period. | 3–14 days |
Ranked restriction timer | You won't be able to queue in ranked matches until the timer shown runs out. | 3–14 days |
VALORANT game ban | You won't be able to play VALORANT until the date and time shown. | 7 days–permanent (may differ per region) |
The above penalties are applied in response to the severity of the offense, so you won't necessarily receive every penalty in order. You can go from a 3-day restriction to a 14-day restriction without hitting 7-day restriction, for example. Ranked restrictions and game bans will only occur after you've been given a chat restriction and if you continue to use offensive language.
If you do receive a restriction, I hope you’ll use that time to reconsider how to best communicate with your allies and enemies alike.
