Help! I'm Locked Out of My Account!

There’s something extra scary about attempting to log into your account only to be told you don’t meet the requirements to create an account (or that your account might be deleted)! Provided that you haven’t been banned from the game (and it’s always good to review each games’ Code of Conduct and Riot’s Terms of Service to be sure), then something might be amiss with your account. Luckily there are a few things you can try to get back in game.

Think your account information is in line with our Terms of Service? Just to be sure, here are some examples of how your account could fail to meet the ToS include:

  • You must meet the age requirements for your region.
    • For most regions, you must be 13 or older with parental consent or above the age of 16.
  • Information regarding the ownership of the account needed confirmation.

So what should I do?

First, you’ll need to confirm your account information. If you have any questions, please submit a ticket at support@riotgames.com. Note that this will allow a Player Support agent to view the status of your account, though it does not guarantee that we can solve the issue if the account in question violates our Terms of Service. We may request additional information beyond the following to verify your account should the need arise.

From there, you’ll need to provide the following required information:

  • Valid email address (and, if applicable, the one tied to your social sign-in account)
  • Date of birth
  • Social sign-in account if applicable (such as Apple, Google, Facebook, etc.)
  • Date the account was created
  • City / Province / Country where the account was created
  • Transaction ID (emailed receipt from Riot or in your Google/Apple transaction history)

Why do you need this information?

We use this information to locate your account, make sure that it’s yours, and that all information was input properly when you first made the account.

While it may seem like a lot of information, it helps us ensure your account is as unique (read: secure) as possible! This also helps us identify you in case you need to recover your account in the future.

What happens if my account still doesn’t match the Terms of Service?

Your account will be set to be deleted in 30-days. If you’re using a social sign-in (Google, Apple ID, Facebook, etc.), that account cannot be linked to a new account until the ineligible one has been deleted.

Wait! How do I stop this from happening?

The only sure way to protect your account is to ensure it matches the Terms of Service. Failure to do so means we cannot do anything to stop your account’s deletion. If you would like to submit a ticket from a mobile device, you’ll need to open up the game you’re playing and sign in with the affected account. From there, you can tap the Contact Player Support button. You can also submit a bug through the Player Support websites if you’re on PC.

So, my account has been deleted…

While we cannot recover a deleted account, if you have questions or concerns regarding purchased content on a deleted account, you can contact us at support@riotgames.com. In order to assist with questions on purchased content, we will need your transaction ID(s). These can be found in the emailed receipt from Riot Games. Transaction IDs typically start with L, A, or B. You can also find your transaction ID in your Google Play or Apple App Store purchase history.
