As you may know, Agent, deciding when to walk, run, or crouch can be the difference between life and death on the field. Allies and enemies alike can hear when you run, and walking or crouching around a corner can allow you to sneak up on an unsuspecting victim. If you prefer to run and gun, however, you may have little use for walking.
Depending on your combat style, you may want to default to running or default to walking when a match begins. Here are a few settings that may help you configure your controls to better suit how you play.
The following settings can be found here: Settings > Controls > Actions > Movement
You can get to the Settings menu either during a match by pressing the esc key or from the main menu by clicking the gear icon in the upper right corner.
Default Movement Mode
This option allows you to walk or run by default when in a match.
Enable Run to make running your default. To walk, you'll have to press the Walk button (Left Shift).

You can change your default Walk/Run button through the option directly under Default Movement Mode. If your default is set to Run, the option under it will say Walk. If you have your default set to Walk, the option under it will say Run.

Turn this setting Off if you prefer to hold the button down to switch movement modes. If your default is running, you will only walk while your movement button is held down, and vice versa.
Toggle Crouch
This option changes how your Crouch button works.
Turn this setting On if you want the button to work like a toggle—press it to switch between standing and crouching.
Turn this setting Off if you prefer to hold the button down to crouch. You will only crouch while the Crouch button is held down, and will stand if you let go of the button.
