So what is VALORANT?

VALORANT is a tactical shooter that sees you and 4 teammates square up against 5 other Agents in a one-life-per round, first to 13 firefight! It's all rather exciting, isn't it? But VALORANT isn't just about your gun skills. You'll need to utilize unique abilities, strategy, and finesse to outwit (and outstyle) your opponents, all while planting or defusing a Spike threatening to erupt.

What's the deal with shards?

You'll probably hear me talk about shards, or your Region of Residence, at some point. Both have to do with where you are in the world right now! For example, if you hop in-game in North America for the first time, your shard will be for NA. Now you may be wondering what the benefit of shards could be? The answer is ping. VALORANT is a fast-paced test of nerve which leaves no place for lag. Your shard links you to the closest server to help minimize the effects of lag.

Please keep in mind, you will not be able to change your shard from where you are residing, so be extra careful when playing from a VPN.

I'm a lone wolf. Do I have to play on a team?

I admire your independence, but the battlefield is no place for solitude. You'll need to work together to take down your adversaries, and that means teamwork is as essential as a good gun or ability. It can get heated in the moment, most definitely, but try to remember the sort of behavior we expect from our Agents.
